Picture Day (1)

This original 60x60 oil, acrylic and pastel painting is called Picture Day, created as an ode to every college dropout, every graduate, every entrepreneur. Kanye West, by now you can see, is a big inspiration to me and to a whole bunch of generations. His influence to persevere through it all is undeniably contagious — he put words to what everyone growing through something feels. Creating this started as a one-off and turned into a 7-part Chakra Series. This blue background speaks to the throat chakra activation, communicating and presenting myself to the world, forever evolving and accepting who I am at all levels: a college dropout myself, yet a graduate of many life lessons along this journey.
